In November 2001 "Tourism Society Erkner e. V. “Stadt zwischen Wälder und Seen” was established. Its goal is the contribution to the development of the tourism in the State of Brandenburg, to expand the tourism in the region, to create the tourism ecologically and socially, so that an improvement of the quality of life for the people in the region can be achieved. The society is member in the tourism association “Oder-Spree-Seengebiet” (TOSS) (Rivers Oder-Spree-Lake Regions)
